PRE-RACE QUESTIONS

Are there discounts available?

Yes, discounts are offered based on when you register that are designated on each event page. There are also discounts for registering teams. 

What does the fee include?

The fee includes:

  • Race bib
  • Race timing chip
  • BADASS Dash™ Tech T-shirt
  • Finisher award
  • Post race refreshments
  • One sample beer * 
  • Live entertainment at the post race festival

* Only for persons of legal drinking age with valid identification provided.

How do I know that I am registered?

An email confirmation will be sent to you immediately following payment. If you do not receive the email please check your spam / junk folder. If you still cannot locate the email please send a message to registration@badassdash.com.

What is the minimum age to compete?

You must be at least 14 years old to compete in Recreational division. To compete in the Elite Trained divisions you must at least 18. We also have the Kids Dash for anyone from 4 - 13 years of age.  Kids will be divided into the following divisions:

  • 4 - 6 years old (Parent or legal guardian must accompany child through course)
  • 7 - 13 years old

Can someone else pick up my packet?

Each racer must pick up their race packet at the designated location. At this area you will be required to sign a waiver and show a photo identification. If the racer is a minor (under 18 years of age) a parent / legal guardian will need to be present. 

Do I have to pick up the packet early? Can I pick it up the day of the race?

Yes, packets can be picked up the day of the race. However, we suggest you collect your packet in advance during the designated time and location on the event listing.

Parking / Shuttle Service?

Please review the the event listing you are competing in for specific details on parking. 

Can I wear a costume?

Sure can! Whatever gets you prepared for the most BADASS Extreme Obstacle Race ever is fine with us! The only thing that we ask is that your costume does not hurt or put another competitor at risk for injury. Come on Batman, let's see what you've got! 

Do I have to wear shoes?

We recommend wearing closed toe shoes; if you're feeling extra BADASS you're welcome to run barefoot. Diving fins are optional! 

RACE DAY

When is my heat / wave?

Your race wave will start as per your email confirmation wave time. Please be sure to gather in the correct area for race staging. 

Can I register at the event site?

Generally our races sell out during online pre-registration so we suggest securing yourself a spot online. Onsite registration will be permitted if you're willing to try your luck as there is no guaranteed availability. 

Refund policy?

There are NO refunds under any circumstances. Transfer requests can be processed up until the date registration closes for the event; no transfers of wave start times, wave dates, race registrations, and race locations will be processed after this date. To process a transfer request please send us an email - please make sure you include the event name and wave start time; if you're looking to substitute your registration for a different racer please include these details. To transfer your registration to a new wave start time this wave must have available space.  

NOTE: There is a $10 transfer fee to transfer to a new event, new racer (substitution), or upgrading to Elite. Wave Start Time changes are complimentary.** 

**Please note, total fee is $11.59, which includes processing fee.

What kind of t-shirts will be available?

All competitors will receive a BADASS Dash Tech™ t-shirt.

Bag check?

Yes, a bag check will be offered to competitors. If you'd like to check your bag tear off the "bag check" tag off of your race bib and our staff will secure your belongings. We strongly suggest leaving any valuables at home as BADASS Dash™ , the facility, or any sponsors affiliated with the race are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged articles. 

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in for a day of extreme obstacle running, swimming, jumping, and climbing! What really gets you going and prepared for the most BADASS activity that you've EVER participated in. We definitely suggest wearing a comfortable pair of running shoes as you'll be participating in a 5-7K race and you don't want to get blisters!  

COURSE

I don't know how to swim, can I still compete?

Yes, sure can! We will have flotation devices at any obstacles that involve swimming. We do encourage you to try your best as you traverse this BADASS course!

How does the race start?

Your race wave will start as per your email confirmation wave time. Please be sure to gather in the correct area for race staging. Each wave will kick off with either a shotgun blast, horn, or countdown or something to pump you up. 

Is there a time limit?

No, there is no time limit to finish the course. It's your challenge to face the BADASS Dash™. 

Do you have to be specially trained to compete?

Absolutely not. A great actor once said "You are either trained or un-trained" and for the BADASS Dash you can compete either way. Each of our obstacles have different degrees of difficulty but none of them are unachievable and knowing yourself (as we hope you do), you can register in either of our two divisions:

  • ELITE TRAINED - Need we say more... you know who you are 
  • RECREATION – Run, Jog, Walk or Crawl – It’s your personal Challenge.

How is it timed?

Everyone will be chip timed and each racer will be placed into one of the following divisions:

  • Teenage (14 - 19)
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60-69
  • 70 & older

What if I cannot complete an obstacle?

You will not be forced to participate in anything you do not feel comfortable with. We will have volunteers on hand throughout the race that will be there to assist you. We understand that everyone has different abilities and just ask that you try your best without injuring yourself or others.

Will I get wet? Covered in mud?

While the BADASS Dash™ is not a "mud run" specifically, it is an adventure race with and Obstacle course, so YES - there will be portions of the course that you will get wet and muddied up. In case you forgot, this is a BADASS Dash™ that you signed up for so we definitely suggest you plan to get dirty, wet and muddy!

 

Can I walk?

Yes, participants can walk the course, there is no time limit to finish the race. 

Can I bring a dog to run with me?

Sorry, dogs are not permitted. 

Will family & friends be able to see the race? Can they access the course?

Yes, friends and family are more than welcome to come out and watch the race. We suggest coming out and racing too - we love having spectators come out to cheer everyone on. There will be activities going on throughout the day for friends and families of competitors. 

Can I form a team?

Yes. You can come out as an individual or come as a team. There are discounts per person for forming teams too, check out the events listing for details.  

Will there be a photographer / videographer taking photos and videos? Can we see / purchase the video & photos?

Yes, we will have a photographer and videographer at each event to help capture the moment as you venture through the most BADASS obstacles ever. You may be able to purchase video and photos online after the event, stay tuned. 

If there is a number of us running can we run together?

Yes, if you'd like to run together make sure that your crew registers for the same wave time! 

How is the course marked?

The course will be clearly marked with designated arrows. 

Are there medical teams & volunteers along the course?

Yes, safety is the most important factor to us at the BADASS Dash™! We want everyone to have fun, get excited, and challenge themselves while still remaining safe as they proceed through the course. We will have medical teams and volunteers placed throughout the course. 

Will there be aid stations throughout the course?

Yes, there will be rehydration stations spread throughout the course. 

This is my first time doing a race like this - What should I wear?

Sure can! Whatever gets you prepared for the most Bad Ass Extreme Obstacle Race ever is fine with us!

POST-RACE

Finisher awards?

You faced some of the most BADASS obstacles of your entire life at the BADASS Dash™ and will receive a finisher award at the completion of the race. 

I'm going to be a mess. How can I shower & change?

Yes, there will be an area after the race to wash up and / or shower. 

Will there be food for athletes before and / or after the race?

Yes, refreshments will be available after the race for competitors. 

Will there be food available for spectators?

There will be food vendors at the event site for spectators of the race to make sure that you stay hydrated and don't go away hungry. 

What is the BADASS Dash™™™ festival I keep hearing about?

The BADASS Dash™ post race festival will feature live entertainment, a beer garden, and an awards ceremony. This is an awesome way to hang out and party with your fellow racers, meet your next wife, and have a blast! You have definitely got to be a part of the post race festival!

How does your donation process work?

When your registration is processed a portion of all of the fees is donated to the Autism Speaks organization. There will be an option to make an additional donation at the location of each race. KIDS DASH

Age groups?

Children aged 4 - 13 years of age can participate in the Kids Dash.  Kids dash will be divided into the following divisions:

  • 4 - 6 years old
  • 7 - 13 years old

Do I have to run the course with my kids?

Children between the ages of 4 - 6 are required to have a parent with them on the course. 

How do I register?

The Kids Dash can be registered for at the event unless otherwise designated on the event listing. Make sure you bring valid photo ID and your John Hancock to sign up your little one to participate!

How long is the race? What about obstacles?

The Kids Dash has two different courses that will best the age groups of your kids.

  • Kids Dash for 4 - 6 years old will feature a 100 yard dash with obstacles just their size!
  • Kids Dash for 7 - 13 years old will feature a 1 mile course with obstacles specifically designed for their age.

What does it cost?

The Kids Dash costs $15; registrations will be accepted on site only. All kids competing will receive a t-shirt, race bib and finisher award.
